Day out at Pishon Cafe [SUPER PHOTO & SELFY HEAVY]

Hello! Hope you're all doing well!

A couple of friends and I went to chill at a cafe on Monday called "Pishon" located in Eastwood. Just a nice casual day with our cameras having lunch with some hot drinks and CAKE! :D 

The cafe had an upstairs which was pretty much vacant and was furnished really nicely, excellent for us to take photos (selfies) without any shame HAHAHA!  There was some customers that did come later on but overall it was still empty.

Customer service wasn't so bad overall; nice but you can tell they stare you down (somewhat judging). But hey, at least the cakes, drinks and bread was totally worth it ;) 

For lunch I had a pizza bun accompanied by a flat white coffee.  The pizza bun was actually really good, super supreme style on a soft sweet bread bread. Abit on the onion-y side but delicious! 

The coffee was made quite well, at first when I was bringing it upstairs to where we were sitting- it didn't look like a flat white, more of a cafe latte. But when drinking it, it was definitely a flat white. Very aromatic coffee finishing off with a leaf design made with some textured milk & froth. 

After we had lunch and chilled abit, we all had cake! *^*)/ The most anticipated moment :DDD Unfortunately I didn't take any photos of the store downstairs due to the somewhat-judging-looks but they did have a large variety of cake slices, mousse, tarts, etc. All made within their store.

I got the mocha espresso cake slice which was nice and light with a strong coffee aroma. Funny when I was ordering the slice, I asked for the cake with the green macaron on top and the waitress thought I wanted the green tea mousse, so had to point to it and then she told me it was a mocha espresso cake. The whole time my friend and I actually thought it was a pistachio cake cos of the color of the slice.

Chilled and took heaps of photos while derping around and then decided to leave due to parking limits >_<; We all decided to go somewhere to take photos and somehow it ended up being a OOTD photoshoot (somewhat mainly for me somehow OAO;).

It was actually awkward having friends doing an OOTD shoot for me since it's the first time I've done this so my facial expression and poses was really awkward ><; Overall it was super fun and I think we got some great photos, despite we were freezing in the cold LOL!

OOTD #5 ~ little red shota

I'm BACK for an outfit of the day post! :D It's been a realllyyy long while (a year+ now) since I've done an OOTD post :O! 

I recently just got a new camera so it'll be more easier to capture my OOTD with its wide lens.

Anyway lets get into it :)

I call this outfit the "little red shota" inspired by outfits ショタ (shota, young boys) wear especially in japanese animation. This outfit is young and fresh with subtle hints of class and elegance. Definitely a more modern take on what elderly men wear when playing golf. 
Also thought this fun and bright outfit would also go well with my bowl haircut haha!

For the top - 
I paired a red v-neck knit sweater with a light yellow, grey & white checkered short sleeve dress shirt with the collar buttoned all the way to the top. To tie the warm tops together without making it look formal - I added my copper retractable neck chain that is pulled to the collar with the chains tucked inside the sweater. This gives the outfit a more modern and casual look rather than using a tie which looks formal.

The dress shirt was purchased from a store on Oxford street called "Christopher Daniel".
The red sweater is by a japanese brand called "BROWNY" and was purchased from taobao which can be viewed HERE . 

For the bottoms - 

I wore camel/beige shorts with the legs rolled up to be just above the knee, dark red over-knee socks that was worn at knee height, and red pleather boots inspired by marten boots. 

Kept the bottoms warm tone as well but went for a more darker approach on the red since I wanted the sweater to be the main attention. Also since the kneesocks itself would capture people's attention since this style is rarely seen around, so had to keep the red subtle. 

The socks can be worn both pulled up to the knee or bunched up on top of the boots to achieve the construction-worker boots. But since it was quite chilly yesterday - decided to keep the socks up.

Pants was purchased in Vietnam at a store called "SEA". (store was in Nguyen Trai in Q3, HCM city)

The belt suspenders was purchased in Japan in Harajuku at one of the stores on Takeshita Street.

I also wore glasses with this outfit to give it a nerdy, smart fling to it.

OOTD#4 - for Vivid

Yo! Hope you're all doing well!

Sorry about the delay of this post, I know I said I'd post it the day after my Vivid Sydney post BUT I had some plans meeting up with my aunty for lunch in the city for talks and yeah... also spent the rest of the night gaming and doing my blood moon akali costest.

ANYWAY let's get started!
So this is what I pretty much looked like on the Vivid Sydney outting with my mom. Outfit was super comfy and warm especially since it's winter now and it has been quite chilly and also I'll be walking around alot in the open, this outfit did justice. Also carried my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera with the 18-55mm kit lens.

Starting with the top. I wore a super old denim dress shirt which use to be my parents in the 90s and surprisingly they kept it in super great condition and now I wear it. It fits really comfortable with a slight oversize look, not dropping so much on the shoulder, long with the back being slightly longer, and I jazzed it up by adding some studs on the corners and the back of the collar, and on the bottom of the placket.

Layered the semi-thick denim top a freesized bat sleeve union jack knit (female) jumper which was extremely warm and adds a nice pop. The sleeves hugs around the arm very nicely which keeps my arm very warm. The jumper was bought on ebay and can be purchased here

Finished off the top off with my upcycled slouch beanie which can be viewed here :D

And of course the usual prescribed glasses with my Dueba Puffy 3 tone Brown lenses.

Usually I'd  be wearing some arm accessories but actually forgot for once, did feel bare without it ahahaha

I paired my tops with black skinny fitted jeans that I modified to fit my legs more so my legs look longer :D For super comfort and warmth, I wore my black ugg boots that has a thick sole that is made to be worn outdoors.

Side view of the outfit. Carried along my blue messenger side bag that I got from G.U store in Ikebukuro in Japan last year. Awesome bag that has a large strap handle that can be worn like a handbag, and very spacious inside to hold my wallet, keys and my camera.

Casual Photoshoot - Tiger print hooded vest (PICTURE HEAVY)

Yesterday I had a photoshoot with Pandori-san for the tiger printed hooded vest that I made just because I show off what I made :D

We shot at the armory of Olympic Park which was a great find for location because we actually have never been here before and was really surprised with the variety of scenery that was around so it was really great.

I had chores and errands to do in the morning so getting myself ready once I got home was quite rushed so I didn't end up doing my eye makeup until I was at the location but in the end I thought the outfit turned out well. Luckily I already planned out my outfit the night before so all I had to do really was my base makeup and contouring. Also did my hair at the location.

This is how I looked liked after the shoot but you kinda get the jizz of how I looked for the shoot.

For the eye makeup, I tried to replicate the patterns of the tiger onto my eyes, using the colors similar to the vest. The makeup I thought was alright however would've been heaps better if I had a white cream shadow/liner since the white powdered shadow didn't stand out so much. Also some of the black liquid liner used to draw the tiger stripes smudged so towards 2/3 of the shoot, the makeup was slightly messy.

My outfit for the shoot consisted of a basic black short sleeve dress shirt layered with the hooded vest over it. Wore my usual adjustable brass colored chain to tie the collar of my dress shirt together and to add a little detail to the plain dress shirt. 

I added a big gold chain necklace around the hoodie area of the vest to tie together the whole top for the complete look. The gold chain necklace really does add such character and boldness to the outfit and also makes the vest look like a cape.

Added on a clip earring and a magnetic earring on my left ear to match the detail I had on my top. To be honest I had to ask friends on instagram, twitter and facebook for opinions on the long clip-on earring because it looks abit too much yet it gives this superior feel to it. Eventually I decided to go with it. Though they were only on for the first half of the shoot because I forgot to put them back on after we took a break.

For accesories on arms and hands, I wore a black vinyl cuff bracelet that I made from spare vinyl fabric and a rhinestone brad on my left wrist .

Wore a simple copper ring with a large black oval detail which matched really well with the entire outfit. Never wore this ring because It use to be to tight, but turns out I can just fit it now. Literally JUST because sometimes it gets stuck even haha!

On my right arm, I wore the strange bondage-looking arm thing that I made mentioned in the previous blogpost.

This is the eyelet string/ribbon I mentioned in the previous blogpost.

For the bottoms, I wore skinny black jeans which wrapped around my legs really well paired and tucked in with my Ebay combat boots mentioned alot in my OOTD posts. Simple and classy. :D

BACK ONTO THE PHOTOSHOOT TOPIC. . .

Got to Pandori-san's place at approximately 1.30pm to pick him and then zoomzoom we go to the destination!

So funny upon driving to our destination because we both have never been here but I've drove passed it but upon entering the entrace, we see this prison-looking place which made us go " O_O ". Had no idea where we were but kept driving and eventually reached a super nice looking area which is a large park which we were so amazed of the area and this discovery. Truly awesome! Did my makeup and my hair in the car and fixed anything that needed to be fixed and off we went to shoot! 

We explored the area abit and took some photos where we could but yeah I think we just got carried away with how awesome the place was.

After exploring the place and shooting for approximately an hour and a half, we went back to Pandori-san's house to pick up Wanye-san who bought us some sausages and bread to cook over the BBQ at the photoshoot destination since the park had BBQ hot plates to cook on =)

Picked up Wanye-san and got to the destination again and decided that we would eat first then shoot because by the time we finish eating, it would be the perfect time to shoot since it'll be golden hour.

Cooked up some sausages and toasted some bread. This is the life, one of the best photoshoots I've been to. Good weather, good location, good food, great people and even had good music playing because of the other people having BBQ next to us playing some nice jazzy music. Was so great.

Ate till we were all nicely full, cleaned up and got back to business with shooting. The lighting by the time we started shooting was just simply amazing because of golden hour. The trick with golden hour photography is to work fast and capture because the sun sets really fast.

Once the sun was down, we decided to go play in the children's playground which is really big. We had great fun and even had some shots with the water feature. I unexpectedly got wet twice by the water feature because I didn't expect the water to come at me. But it was all great fun :D

I really do look forward shooting at this location more with amazing people.

Outfit of the day (OOTD) 2~

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well. 

Had a couple of things to do today which included hanging out with my friend so thought I'd share my outfit of the day. 

So this is what I wore:

• Head - Wore a slouch beanie that I made myself using an old shirt. You can view this DIY via http://dannchu.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/diy-slouch-beanie-with-old-clothes.html . Thought the faded black color went well with my pantss

• Eyes - My usual thick framed prescribed glasses which I always wear. Goes well with almost every outfit, giving a more nerdy preppy look.

• Top : The base shirt is a nice horizontal green and navy pinstriped shirt bought at G.U store in Ikebukuro on my Japan trip. Layered the base shirt with an asymmetrical beige vest which I made myself which I might make a DIY for it one day. The vest is lightweight yet thick enough to cover and give some warmth and comfort. The ruffles on the front actually bunches up and layers quite thick around through the neck so it kind of acts as a scarf. Thought this would go well with the base and give it more an earthy feel with the green. Tied all the pieces together with a thin mint-green scarf tied into a circle scarf. Top is warm, comfortable, suitable for the cool weather without overdoing it. Added a leather bracelet bought in Hong Kong which also gave an extra earthy neutral feel to it.

• Bottoms : Black slim fitted pants bought at G.U store in Ikebukuro in Japan also. Lightweight with a slight touch of denim, so almost faux denim; allowing the legs to be comfortable and kept warm. Rolled the cuffs of the pants abit just to tie and give the whole look more of the preppy look. Completed this look with some brown leather suede shoes.

First OOTD (Outfit of the day) Post

Yo! Hope you're all doing well!

A couple of friends of mine were saying how I should do posts (both videos and blog entries) on my outfit of the day, so I thought I'd make a blog post on it :D

Now I wouldn't call myself stylish as people say, I'm just someone who likes to dress it up wherever I go. Of course not all the time, usually when I go out or hang out with people then I dress it up but if it's something fast and simple (like going grocery store quickly to buy bread or something) then I just put on the closest clothes around even if they don't go well together.

Even though I like to dress it up, I don't really buy new clothes (mainly due to the fact I'm unemployed and have no form of income or financial support) so I often just wear old clothes in a way it doesn't look like I wear it so much. But of course some styles and combinatiosn are repetitive but yeah! :D

So today (Saturday 2nd February 2013) wasn't anything special, I was just in the mood to dress it up to go out for abit and also tend to dress it up on cooler weathers like today. Mom asked me to go accompany her to go grocery shopping in our local town, so this is what I wore in the daytime :

Warm and comfortable and (hopefully) not overdressed for just grocery shopping with mom at our local asian town.

Lets start from head to toe:
→ Small soft black fedora hat to cover my bed hair. Actually had this hat for approximately 6+years :D I didn't wear this hat until year 2011-2013 because I just couldn't incorporate it into my clothing style but yeah, now I love it XD

→ Somewhat medium-thick large frame black glasses which are prescribed because I'm short sighted .___.;


→ DIY necklace/chain which I wear almost ALL the time with all my outfit because it compliments outfits so well in my opinion as the chain can be adjusted. Made from a drawstring fastener and copper brassy chain bought from craft stores. 

→ Oversized drop-shoulder dark blue shirt from ASOS.com or what I call it the boomer (from Left for Dead game) shirt. Great light and flowy shirt, and the style is just so unique because of the intended oversizeness. Also have this shirt in a camel color.

→ Oversized knit horizontal striped black and navy-grey cardigan. Bought this cardigan on sale (well kinda clearance) because it had a slight hole on the shoulder which didn't bother me and the size was XL and yeah. Only recently took it out :D Since the cardigan was too big on me, decided to under roll-up the sleeves to loosen up the baggy look. Also allows me to wear some arm accessories haha!


→ Arm accessories or arm candies worn for this outfit was just bracelets I made. Stacked three bracelets different in color and texture which complimented the color of the clothes I wore. And the chain on the right in the picture below is just my neckchain I wore with the outfit.

→ For the bottoms, I wore my beige/camel slim fitted cargo pants that I bought in Japan at G.U store and rolled up the bottoms just above my boots to make it more casual and show off my boots. Also wore a waist fastener that I also bought from Japan at Harajuku. I like these heaps better than belts because belts just look super chunky in the middle and awkward too when showing through your top.

→ For the shoes, my all time favorite overworn black suede booties I bought from Ebay. I wear these boots everywhere  because they're super comfy, has quite a heel to it, and just looks great. But they really are super comfy- I brought these along when I was travelling to Vietnam & Japan, I wear these when I'm doing dance covers, etc. 

For the night, I kept the bottom half the same but just rolled the pants down so it covered half the boots so you know they're booties. Changed up my outfit and styling to head out to dinner at our local RSL club buffet with my mom.

→ Crimped my hair for some texture and also styled it accordingly and setted it with hairspray. Also my eyebrows were filled in so I actually have eyebrows LOL! Glasses are the same as I am blind and it complimented the outfit and gave the face a little something.


→ Kept the oversized shirt as a base as it was pretty cold outside but layered it with a large suede dress shirt that I self blinged up with gold studs. It was the first shirt that I ever blinged up and  it has got to be one of my favorite shirt to wear. Its super warm, comfy and the bling just looks so classy yet badass. I rolled up the sleeves so the look is more casual and more fitted. 
Funny thing whilst at the clulb was that when I was swiping my membership card, one of the worker (quite an old bloke) told me that technically that studs aren't allowed in the RSL Club but he let me off since no one noticed it. I was surprised by that rule and never actually saw that in the dress code warnings but yeah. hahaha

→ For the accessories, I kept it simple with a detailed gear gold watch (that doesn't work no more) with black leather straps; and chains. The watch gave it a bold, classy, and sophisticated look, yet the gear detail gave it a more casual and edgy look especially when the chain bracelet was added.

So yeah that's my outfit for the day.
